Drama I:  Fairy Tale Projects will present on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Project Binders are due Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, we will do Commercial Spots for Camera and review for the final.  Final Notebook Check is this Friday, 5/18.  Final Exam is 5/24.  Project Binders are due Wednesday.

Drama II:  Monologues should be selected for approval on Tuesday.  We will rehearse on Wednesday and present on Thursday and Friday.  Notebooks will also be due on Friday.  Final Exam is 5/24.

Drama III-IV:  Senior Final Monologue Performances are Monday.  Senior Finals and Junior Performances are Wednesday.  Junior Performances will continue on Thursday.  On Friday, we will do cold readings.  Junior Finals are on 5/22.

Tech I (5th):  Final Project work day is Monday.  Groups present projects on Wednesday.  Final projects are due on Thursday.  Exam review is Friday and Monday.  Final Exam is 5/22.

Tech I-III (7th):  Final Projects and documentation are due on Wednesday.  Senior Finals are Wednesday.  Wednesday and Thursday are Shop Reset Days.  Exam Review is Friday.  Final Exam is Monday.

SNOW ANGEL will be presented this Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m.  Admission is free to Drama Students.  General Admission is $5.00.  Critique assignments will be due on May 1.

Drama I and II:  You will continue building your Fairy Tale this week.  On Tuesday, we will hunt for props and costumes, and on Friday, your group will present another preview of the story.

Drama III-IV:  It’s the week of the show!  We have rehearsal Monday through Wednesday 3:30 – 6:00.  Call on Thursday is at 5:00 and 6:00 on Friday.

Tech I:  This week you will focus mostly on your Set Design. We will review Floor Plans, Elevations and Drawing to Scale.  You will also present your Model concept.

Tech II-III:  We will finish the Snow Angel set this week and continue our shop and classroom renovation projects.

Drama I-II:  This week we will go over the guidelines for the Fairy Tale project and break into groups.  Your group will brainstorm your story, assign roles and begin writing your script.  Initial project outlines will be due on Friday.

Drama III-IV:  Costumes for “Snow Angel” are due on Monday.  We will continue rehearsing scenes during class and doing run-throughs on Tuesday and Thursday after school.  We have a Saturday rehearsal on 4/21 from 12-4.

Technical Theater I (5th):  You will choose your Production Design play, read and analyze and complete Steps 1-4 of your project.  Your team must begin either Step 5 (Set), Step 6 (Costumes), or Step 7 (Lights/Sound) this week.  Benchmark materials will be due on Friday.

Technical Theater I-III (7th):  We will continue design and construction of Snow Angel as well as classroom renovation projects.  Lighting and Sound designs should be completed.

Welcome back from Spring Break.  Check the Course Page for each course for an overview of the last 6 Weeks.

Drama I-II:  This week we will begin our unit on Fairy Tales.  We will learn about the elements of fairy tales and do warm-ups and improvisation to create short original fairy tales.

Drama III-IV:  “Snow Angel” rehearsals continue.  You should be off book on Monday.  Remember that we have rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 6:00.

Technical Theater I (5th Period):  You will begin your final Production Design project.  We will read the play Spreading the News and practice analyzing a script for production elements.

Technical Theater I-III (7th Period):  We will work in teams to produce “Snow Angel” including set pieces, lighting design, and properties.  We will also be working on several shop and classroom renovations including a new practice stage set.

Drama I and Drama II:  This week you will finish writing your original scene and present it for Minor Project Grade.  You will be graded on the writing as a group and on your individual performance.

Drama III-IV:  This week we will block “Snow Angel” and explore characterization.  Your assignment for Spring Break will be to get off book.  Remember our production is April 26-27!

Technical Theater:  All levels will finish the unit on Lighting as well as cover Sound and Effects (Fog).  The Unit Test will be Tuesday for Tech II-III and Wednesday for Tech I.

March 19-23

Drama I:  On Monday, we will see our remaining performances of The Odd Couple and reflect on the Acting Project.  Beginning Tuesday, you will begin a Playmaking project where you will work with two other students to create a short scene for performances.

Drama II:  We will review the basics of scene structure using Improvisation and then start our Playmaking project where you will work with two other students to create a short scene for performances.

Drama III-IV:  On Monday we will complete our readthrough of Snow Angel.  On Tuesday, we will have audition readings.  On Wednesday, we will begin our second readthrough and begin rehearsing.  On Friday, your character/costume concept is due.

Technical Theater I:  We will continue our unit on Lighting including Hang and Focus, the Light Board, and working with Color and Light.  You will complete several activities to prepare you for the Unit Test which will be on Thursday, March 29.

Technical Theater II-III:  You may continue to participate in the Lighting lecture and demos or move on to work on Scene Shop and Snow Angel projects.

March 12-16

Drama I:  On Monday and Tuesday, we will have our final rehearsal days for The Odd Couple.  Performances will begin Wednesday.  You will perform the entire scene.

Drama II:  On Monday and Tuesday, we will have our final rehearsal days for Picnic.  Performances will begin Wednesday.  You will perform the entire scene.

Drama III-IV:  On Monday, we will have our final rehearsal day for Gypsy.  Performances will begin Tuesday.  You will perform the entire scene.  We will have a readthrough of Snow Angel on Friday.

Technical Theater I (5th / 7th):  We will begin our unit on Lighting and Sound with lecture and demonstrations.

Technical Theater II-III:  You will spend the week on organizing and inventory in the shop.  You will also propose and design a renovation for some aspect of the theater.

Into the Woods – Special Act II Matinee – Sunday, March 4 – 2:00 p.m.

ALL LEVELS:  Into the Woods critiques are due on Wednesday, March 7.

Drama I-IV:  After reflecting on Into the Woods on Monday, you will continue with your current scene projects.  Final scene presentations will be given March 12-16.

Technical Theater I:  After completing our critiques, we will assist in striking Into the Woods.

Technical Theater I-III (7th):  We will strike Into the Woods and clean and reset the shop.  Our next project will be to design and construct the spring play.

ALL:  Into the Woods will be presented this week March 1-3 at 7:00 p.m.  All students must attend.  Sign in at the Box Office.  All other tickets are $8.00.

Drama I – IV:  Monday through Thursday you will continue preparing your scene projects.  On Thursday, we will preview Into the Woods and review Critiquing.

Tech I (5th):  Costume Design Projects continue through Thursday when they are due.

Tech I-III (7th):  Final punch list items for Into the Woods.

ALL:  On Friday, you will see scenes from Into the Woods during class.

Into the Woods critiques will be due on March 7.
